Has anyone here compared Cerakote and nitriding on well-used pistols? I'm curious about which one holds up better over time.

Cerakote wears down pretty quick on high-friction areas, especially near the muzzle. Nitriding seems tougher since it treats the actual metal. For pistols that see a lot of use, I would go with nitriding

If we are talking resistance, nitriding is better since it treats the metal. Cerakote looks amazing and is great when it comes to resisting corrosion but it’ll show wear from your holster. If it’s a handgun you put through rough use, I’m going with nitriding every time.
