Worst gun cleaner

Some commonly criticized ones are cheap generic CLPs like Hoppe’s knockoff aerosol blends from dollar-store brands or ultra-budget “gun scrubber” clones that evaporate too fast and leave carbon smeared instead of removed.

Some of the worst I’ve used were overly harsh ammonia-based cleaners that stink, dry out finishes and don’t really clean better than basic CLP or proper carbon solvents.

One that really disappointed me was Hoppe’s Elite Foam in heavy carbon builds, it’s fine for light fouling but on neglected bores it just sits there and barely breaks anything up compared to a proper solvent.

Rem Oil spray left the stickiest residue on everything and somehow made my action feel worse than before. I ended up tossing the whole can.

I tried some dollar store cleaner once on a dare and it smelled like a hospital and left more gunk than it removed.
