What gun symbolizes Illinois?

Just a random thought that crossed my mind today....

If Illinois had to pick a “state gun,” which one do you think would come out on top? It doesn’t have to be a serious choice just whatever you feel best captures the spirit of the Land of Lincoln.

I think the M1 Garand feels right for Illinois given the Springfield Armory history there. Patron saint of American manufacturing with enough historical weight to make the argument without trying too hard.
