I made laminated ballistic charts for every rifle load I use

I got tired of relying on apps and battery life in bad weather, so I started building simple ballistic charts for each hunting load I carry. I drop data from 100 to 500 yards, printed and laminated then attached directly to the rifle. It is simple and always there when I need it...The old-school solution is still the best one. Anybody else still prefer analog backups over apps in the field?

I still trust a laminated card over my phone, especially when weather or dead batteries show up.

Even though I always have my Kestrel with me, I still keep those laminated dope cards on my rifles. You know how it is, phones die, screens freeze up or the weather just decides to go south. A little waterproof card, zip-tied right onto the stock has saved me a lot more headaches than any high-tech app ever could.

That’s a good setup, there is nothing wrong with having a low-tech backup you can trust in bad weather. Batteries fail at the worst times but laminated dope cards don’t care.

Laminated dope card on the stock is still the most reliable system I've used. Old school wins every time field conditions get ugly.
