Since I’ve started focusing more on performance, I’ve noticed that factory ammo doesn’t always meet my expectations. A lot of shooters recommend handloading as the best way to enhance results. I’d love to hear how many of you are into it!

I started with 9mm and .45Colt in 2014. Now I handload 9mm, .38sp, .357, .45ACP, .45Colt, .223, 300BLK and 30.06. Have been considering 7.62x39. Haven't done much shooting for the past couple years though.

I reload mostly for rifles; less for pistols. In some calibers, my loads are more accurate than factory loads. in some calibers, and with some rifles, factory loads outperform or perform as well as my loads. But the act of hand loading isn't work, it's just an extension of or a part of one of my favorite activities.

I should add that, in this instance when I'm talking about performance, I'm talking about accuracy. There are other measures of performance that may be of more interest to other loaders.

wait'll ya start loading for some wildcats
that's when the fun starts
