I went through three completely different setups before this one actually felt right, and looking back, I genuinely underestimated how much the bench itself was part of the process rather than just something to set the press on. Height ended up mattering way more than I expected, too low and I was hunching over every single round, too high and the leverage on the press handle just felt wrong no matter how I adjusted my stance.
Lighting mattered more than I gave it credit for too, and so did how the components were actually organized within reach, since half of bad workflow turned out to be me reaching for things instead of having them where they should've been. I've moved the press itself three times now and rebuilt the entire workflow around it twice and this current setup is the first one that actually feels right instead of just functional. So I guess the bench was never just furniture, it was quietly shaping how every single round got loaded.
Has it ever taken you a few failed attempts to land on a setup that finally just worked the way it should have from the start?
