With so many new compact 9mm models hitting the market lately, have manufacturers truly nailed this category, or is there still room for meaningful advancements?
They’re almost there but not quite finished. The recoil’s still a bit sharp for their size and some triggers feel kind of off. I think we’ll see smoother shooting versions without them getting any bigger.
There is still considerable room for improvement but guns like the Springfield Armory Hellcat and the Sig 365 are very good starts in 9mm. The Springfield Armory XDs in .45 ACP stands alone in that caliber. I am really enamored by the Kimber Micro 9, as long as it goes to a gunsmith first to correct reliability issues and trigger issues.
