Have come across some issues about the Canik MC9 losing its reliability after shooting <1000 rounds. Is that still a concern these days?

If you keep everything clean and change out the recoil springs as needed, I don’t think reliability will be an issue.

Many of those issues were linked to older batches or poor ammo pairings. But I wouldn’t buy it without testing it first. Give it a solid run for a few hundred rounds, and if it runs clean with your carry loads, I’d feel good about carrying it. If it doesn’t hold up, look for something that has a better review right out of the box.

Agree with this. Test it first.

When it comes to running thousands of rounds a year, I’d still choose a more established platform. But if you’re in the market for a lightweight carry gun that shoots well and won’t be pushed to its limits, I think the MC9 is a good option now.
