So we can use straight wall rounds, mostly, in single shot, or rendered single shot rifles. What are you going to use? I'm going to be using one of my 44/40's, or my Chief Crazy Horse 94 in 38/55, or my 76 in 45/60. All will have a wooden dowel in the tube to make it a single shot.

I'm prolly leaning towards getting a .350 Legend in a bolt-action rifle. I know it might not have the same flair as the classics, but it’ll get the job done 😅

Sometimes I think gettin an old .44-40 just for the history and the sheer fun of it.

They are lots of fun! I have a Uberti 66 rifle, Rossi 92 Carbine, and Uberti 73 carbine. Used all in CAS, now will hunt with whichever comes with the best accuracy load I'm working on.

I love working with wood blanks on the break-actions

My daughter uses a CVA Scout model with a 22" barrel, along with a Nikon Buckmaster scope, chambered in 350 Legend. It is exceptionally accurate with a Barnes 170gr bullet with some H110 powder. Hopefully IL adopts the new round limit for deer hunting soon and we don't have to worry about single action rifles, plugging magazines, or single sleds. Absolutely absurd law to begin with. I mostly use my .45 smokeless ML anyway, so the law didn't make much difference for myself.
