Been around shooting sports fro about 50 years. Competitive and reloading for about 40+ years. Have competed in Bullseye, USPSA/IPSC, High Power Rifle, Small Bore Rifle, IHMSA Silhouette, International Air Pistol, Trap and Skeet. Licensed Concealed Carry, C&R License.
I'm now on the "old age" road, and my only competition is club level trap & skeet for fun. I do still shoot a little (very little) bullseye in our winter league.
My biggest problem now is range access. My favorite range, located within 10 minutes of my home has been closed down. My next closest range I belong (PASA) to is 35 miles away, and takes me a lot of planning and commitment of time to go.
I have been a "collector" of revolvers, primarily S&W, for quite a few years, and belong to the Smith & Wesson Collectors Association. Considering my age I began selling off my collection a couple of years ago, and getting it down to just what I use., plus a few more.
My primary shooting is now weekly trap league, and then some skeet when that is over.
I also have enjoyed Fishing for a long time and have traveled for some Bass Fishing to Texans and Minnesota, and trout fishing to Colorado. I enjoyed taking old falling apart bamboo fly rods and putting them back in working order, and did make myself an IM6 Graphite 6 1/2 ft Fly Rod i 4 Wt. for a Bluegill rod. (such fun).
I've never been much of a hunter, but did love Prairie Dog hunting in So Dakota. One shot kills at 500 yards are challenging. Takes precision reloading, which I did al lot of .
The one thing I do not like is nearly anything to do with "Tactical" anything. It shows a Negative image of shooting sports to the public. Open carry in some states also should never have been passed, and photo's of people in grocery stores with an AR slung over their shoulder is very distasteful and a put off to most citizens.
