Let's reminisce about our first handguns! What was yours, do you still own it, and how do you feel about it looking back now? I'd love to hear your stories and see any photos if you have them!

Mine was a S&W model 10 with a pencil barrel.
Traded for a Model 19, wished I still kept all my Smith's over the years.
Only have three left..

Well, I suppose the statute of limitations is up... My first handgun was a Ruger Mark 1. I was 17 when I bought it in a private party sale in 1977. A year later a "Friend", that knew how to get into my apartment without a key, decided that since he was moving out of state, he thought he should have the gun, so he stole it. Of course I couldn't report it to the police, so it's long gone. The next one that I bought was in 1986 a Star 30M from a shipmate who was transferring. That one I still have. It's heavy but very reliable and accurate

Mine was a "Baby" Browning, a 25acp pistol that I bought for personal defense, not realizing how puny that round is. I never fired that gun, and traded it for another gun which I also never fired, and which was then stolen in a home burglary. Then I bought my first "real" gun, which I fired often, and still own, and in fact is the one gun that I would never part with, a S&W Model 19, Nickel, 4 inch barrel. When I hold it I always think that this is the perfect handgun if there ever was one. Just a bit too big, and low capacity, for everyday carry.

Colt police positive special .38 with wood grips and a tyler t-grip. Was a gift from my grandpa, he carried it as a duty gun many moons ago. Currently sits in the gun safe but comes out from time to time.

My first was a black powder revolver bought at an auction for 60 bucks. Ended up buying 6 that day. All civil war repros. Have them all except for a 36 caliber I gave to my brother in law.
