So, I've been going back and forth on whether binary triggers are legal in Illinois. I moved here recently and still trying to wrap my head around all the firearm laws. I saw some online chatter about them being a gray area, but nothing definitive. I guess I just want to play it safe and avoid trouble.

Has anyone checked into this or have any experience with it? I was thinking of picking one up for some range fun, but now I'm second-guessing myself. Just looking for some clarity before I make any moves.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Not to throw water on your question, but please consider that Illinois has a current law that grossly prohibits many popular semiautomatic rifles. If I understand it correctly binary triggers are used on the AR platform so you may not get a large response. I have no personal experience with those items so I cannot help. May I suggest you read the state law on the matter.

Bottom line is Illinois specifically banned go fast triggers even before their egregious "Assault Weapon" ban.
